Included Parts:
Evaporator/Ice Stick: The Ice Stick consists of a number of energy sticks. The amount of energy sticks are dependant on which heat pump you have. An energy stick consists of 2 meters of copper piping that are enclosed in aluminium profi les which gives an area equivalent of 64 meters of copper piping (22mm). For example, the IS48 consists of 12 energy sticks with a total area equivalent of 770 meters of copper piping. The propane inside the copper piping draws energy from the surrounding air water vapour. The Ice Stick has no moving parts and does not require defrosting.

The Ice Stick … a brilliant and simple design

Heating takes place by aluminium profiles condensing moisture vapour in the air to water, which then temporarily transforms to frost. The heat absorbing aluminium construction requires no defrosting by air fans, meaning a quiet operation and significant energy savings. Seasonal performance factor varies between 2 – 5 depending on building conditions, humidity, and outdoor temperature. Its simple design means there is only one moving part the compressor.

The Ice Sick an environmentally friendly design for today and the future “ …. invented and developed by Octopus in Sweden since 1991, this unique heat pump is now available and working in Ireland, and is ideal for residential, commercial, and industrial heating solutions.

Hotfoot is the main distributor for the Ice Stick System, and we can provide a complete supply and fit service, for the Heat Pump, the low energy OPTI Heat 9mm rubber pipes, as well as specialist pumped floor screeds e.g. Therma-Floor.

Because no Bore Holes or Ground Loops are required, substantial installation savings can be made when compared to Ground Source Heat Pumps.

The Ice Stick is ideally suited to our Irish Climate as the majority of time that heat is required in our home or business, the weather is mainly cold, wet, and windy.

With average winter air temperatures often higher than can extracted from the ground, and an average annual air temperature of 9º C over the last 30 years ( source met.ie ) Air Source Heat Pumps can be up to 25% more efficient than Ground Source options.

The Ice stick is not only suited to new builds, but can also be easily connected to an existing Boiler System, using U/F heating pipes, radiators, or even a combination of both. Further substantial energy savings can be made as the Boiler is either replaced by, or used only as a back-up to the Ice Stick.

Unlike all other Air Source Heat Pumps, the Ice Stick is unique in that it does not require a fan to draw the air into it, and more importantly it does not have use some of its generated energy to defrost itself….. defrosting is done by nature for free !

Designed to last for 50 years, and with only one moving part, the compressor, its simplicity means that there is virtually no maintenance required, giving you and your family peace of mind for the future.

By having “ open zones “ and using our OPTI Heat pipe system, we allow “ redistribution of heat “ within the building, and with no “ buffer tank “ required, the Ice Sick only provides the building, with the minimum amount of energy it requires, to maintain a constant but lower even temperature, thus giving further energy savings when compared to competitive systems.

While our competitors quote COP figures obtained in ideal test situations, we show “ actual energy consumption figures “ for homes and business, monitored over an annual basis in both Ireland and Sweden.

We also fit as standard, a digital kWh consumption meter, in the Electrical Control Panel for the Ice Stick, so you know exactly what energy is being used from day one !
So to conclude this introduction, we hope you have heard and seen enough to make you contact us ….. we look forward to hearing from you !!!

Maxxon

In keeping with our desire to give our clients a service that our competitors can only dream about, back in 2005, we decided to not only supply and install under floor heating, but to also offer a pumped floor screed as well.

We did this, because at the time most U/F heating systems were installed in the main concrete slab i.e. 75 – 100 mm, with no concern for heat up, or response times. We thought, there must be a more efficient way of doing this ?, so we did our research, and found products that allowed our heating to be installed in thinner screeds e.g. 30 – 40 mm. We wanted to make our systems more responsive, more efficient, and ultimately help reduce our customers heating costs…. so guess what…. we did all of that !!

Welcome to Maxxon.ie  , we are very proud to offer the complete range of Maxxon floor screeds and sound insulation systems, please take the time to browse our many installation photos and check out our website.

Maxxon.ie

With the increased popularity of pumped floor screeds in Ireland, in particular when used with under floor heating systems, it pays to go for a proven world leader in the field, as like most things in life…. not all screeds are the same !

Maxxon.ie offer the complete range of pumped floor screeds and sound insulation systems from Maxxon, who only started the industry in America in 1972  but continues to lead it today, with high quality products, training, research and expert installers.

By providing a full spectrum of gypsum and cement based screeds, all floor challenges can be met with a product that suits not only your budget, but your specification and time frame.,

If you need a screed over plywood, concrete, floated insulation or steel deck sub floor’s, Maxxon.ie can offer a supply and fit service with a dedicated, professional nationwide installation team.

It is widely accepted now, that a thinner screed makes any under floor heating system more efficient and responsive, and Maxxon have a product designed specifically for this purpose called “Therma-Floor”

For high strength, quick drying, cement based, self levelling screed, look no further that Maxxon “LEVEL-RIGHT” which can be poured from 0 – 76mm in one application and can be tiled on the next day !

To keep your project on time both screeds can normally be walked on in 90 minutes and all trades are back in on the floor  the next day.

Sound insulation is becoming more important to our build quality and Maxxon offer a range of solutions for both concrete and timber sub floors with their Acousti-Mat systems, all of which can be installed by our in house  team …providing the complete flooring package.

For a sustainable future they are one of the few companies to offer new “Green” environmentally friendly varieties of the above products, and can be contacted at  (01) 2819797   or   maxxon@hotfoot.ie
